My Secret Ingredient Recipe.
Today I will be showing you my secret ingredient recipe... MI SAZON!!! The reason I will be giving you my secret recipe, it's because I will be posting a lot more recipes and my Sazon it's one of the main ingredients in most of them.
Sazon it's also known as sofrito, and it can be done in one million ways, but this is the way I've been making it for years and it has been AWESOME!!!
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I MAKE IT!!
Ingredients:
1 Green Pepper
1 Red Pepper
1 Big Cilantro Bunch
3 Limes (squeeze juice)
4 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar (or any other vinegar
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Cumin (optional)
1 tsp Oregano Leaves (optional)
1 tsp Salt
4 Chicken Flavor Bouillon Tablets (please read further for more options)**
2 Pack of Sazon Goya con Culantro y Achiote (or 1/2 tsp of Bijol)
Water to taste
NOW LETS BLENDED!!
This is when it gets tricky... I do like my Sazon thick because it is easier to handle, but there is people like my grandmother, that like it really watery. The way I do it is, I put all my dry ingredients first:
Then I pour the vinegar, lime juice and a little bit of water until all they ingredients are blended.
When fully blended together, It looks something like this:
This amount will last me two weeks in the refrigerator. I like to keep it in a glass jar with a lid:
**Now let me explain about the chicken bouillon, if you cannot find the one in the picture of the ingredients, you can use the Goya powder one, but instead of four use two. (I have tried it with this)
You can also use 1/3 cup of chicken broth and no water, or just a little bit of water. (I have also tried it like this too)
Like I said before, there are at least 100 ways to do sofrito or sazon, and this is the way that works for me. You can do it step by step or customize it, it's totally your choice. Now when I am cooking and I tell you to use 1 cup or 1/2 tps of my secret recipe, now you know it's my sazon.
Thank you so much for reading I will be happy to answer any of your questions and I will read all your comments that I will must certainly reply. Also if you have any ideas or want me to blog about something of your interest, let me know.
With Love, Lowreley.
