Day 3 and 4 - Summer of learning and fun
Day 3:
I tried to do something different today so no lesson plan, no reading, no writing, no pencils, no paper ... Today we went to the POOL!! and boy did we have fun!!. I am so lucky I have 2 little water parks and 2 local pools (one of them its indoor so it's open all year around) within walking distance.
The morning routine was as usual the children woke up, brush their teeth, washed their faces and ate breakfast. By 10:45 am we were out the door. We were literally singing the Dora and boots song. You now the "Come on vamonos, everybody let's go" and Gordo was singing: "Where are we going?" and Becky said: "To the pool!" It was hilarious.
The reason I love this pool it's because of the view, we have the whole New York City view right in front of us. The big boys love it because all their friends go there and the little ones love it because of the water inside the kiddie pool.
We left the pool at 1:30 pm because Gordo was cold (it was kind of windy) and Becky was hungry so we walked back home, not with the same energy, by the way. I made lunch, Becky wanted Turkey and Cheese Sandwich with Cranberry-Grape Juice, Gordo wanted Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich with Grape Juice. Tata and Nonny were in the Victor Cruz Football's Camp. They were actually so excited because they met a lot of Giants players. Bekika didn't nap but Gordo was extremely tired so he did nap for one hour.
Day 4:
Since I work from home, today we had to start our routine later. I did try to finish some work last night but it was impossible. By 11:00 am they already brushed their teeth, washed their faces and ate bagels with cream cheese and hot cocoa (extra whipped cream for Bekika and extra extra marshmallows for Gordo) for breakfast.
Exactly at the moment that we were going to start, this horrible migraine came out of nowhere (I do suffer for migraine and there is nothing I can do when those horrible headaches come). Fortunately my very smart daughter took over, she went to her iPad and looked for ABC and Number Song's video on YouTube and transferred it to the TV (did I ever tell you how much I love my smart tv?) then she found Kindergarten Lullabies videos and then read to Gordo all the words she knows in Spanish, she is the best big sister!
I was in the living room with them supervising and dying slowly at the same time (I hate migraines), when I was better Gordo wrote the letters ABC and the numbers 123, he still hates numbers but today he chose not to fight and do it, Bekika wrote sentences with words that starts with the letters ABC and she wrote the numbers 123. I made pancakes for lunch, Tata didn't join us, Danny did and he loved it. Nap time didn't happen today but thanks to Sesame Street I cooked peacefully.
Today was good but I just figured out that because of my migraine, I have to have a plan B, thanks to my Bekika's quick thinking our lesson plan went smoothly.
With Love, Lowreley.
