Vacation Mode ON!

So we are going on VACATION!!!!.

I have to confess, I do miss those good old days when I used to pack and go, but now since I have a family, a job, a dog and like a THOUSAND responsibilities, it is NOT THAT EASY!!!  I am taking you step by step on my vacation set-up and check list.  Who knows maybe you will use my list for your future vacations...
  • First, I have to set up the house.  I have to make sure that all the outlets are safe and no food in the fridge. I will have a house/plant/dog sitter, which is awesome, but if you don't have one make sure that you:
    • DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOGS ALONE!!!
    • Set up your alarms and make sure all the alarm's batteries are good.
    • CHECK YOUR STOVE AND OVEN.
    • Check all the FAUCETS.  DO NOT LEAVE ANY WATER RUNNING!
    • Leave your plants in a safe and cool place.
    • Disconnect your TVs, microwave, computers, electric stove, coffee machine, pretty much everything but the refrigerator.
    • NO dishes in the sink.
    • NO Garbage.  Make sure all garbage cans are empty.
    • NO food in the refrigerator.
    • Leave some lights on.  I usually leave the one in the bathroom and kitchen on.
    • Leave some windows open. If you live in a top floor like I do, it is a good idea to leave the top part of the window a little bit open (I usually leave the window in the bathroom completely open, because if it does rain the water will go inside the bathtub and that is where I keep my plants and the one in the dinning room a little bit open).
    • Since I have a house sitter, I don't have to worry about the mail, but if you don't have one talk to the mailman, he can either give your mail to your neighbor or just hold it at the post office until you come back.  It's your choice, but make sure you tell him what to do.
  • Make sure you leave on time and have all your stuff with you.  If you are taking a bus, plane, train or cruise make sure you know the rules about what can you bring and be early for check-ins.  We are taking a road trip (read my other blog about it) so the time it's more flexible, but schedule it's really important so stick to it.
  • Have fun, enjoy, get a safe tan, swim, dance, sing, eat, talk, read, sleep, go to a place that you've never been in, relax and more importantly... be safe!!!
Thank you so much for reading I will be happy to answer any of your questions and I will read all your comments that I will certainly reply. Also if you have any ideas or want me to blog about something of your interest, let me know.

With Love, Lowreley.
